Labor Day Weekend

We decided to go on a little road trip for labor day weekend before the little guy decides to make an appearance. We drove down to Galena, IL and went to the field of dreams movie site in Iowa. Galena was about as far as we could go in the circle of trust since Sara is 9+months pregnant. We took highway 35 which is also called "the great river road" because it follows the Mississippi all the way down. It's a really neat drive and would recommended it if you are ever close to it. We stayed at a ski resort in Galena which had alot of things to do. We went on a 1.5 hour river cruise on the river and they had mini golf and an alpine slide. What's an alpine slide you ask? It's kind of like a bobsled track that goes down the mountain. For those of you who have not seen one of these I took a first person "track view" for you to experience below:

*Interesting note--see if you can find the grasshopper I almost hit on the way down. It was about the 1:15 mark. Sara didn't have a video. She didn't think Nolan was old enough to enjoy it yet.

Sara did get in on the mini golf action though. She handled the eiffel tower quite nicely. We'll have to let Danny critique her form though.

  1. That looks like SO much fun! And... it was a LONG ride. I'd say Sara has pretty good form for being pregnant! ;) Glad you two had a getaway!
