The town is about 7000 ft above sea level and then the mountain village where we stayed is another couple thousand feet above it. The mountain village is connected to the town by a gondola that's free to ride. Alot of the people who live up in the mountain village commute to town that way to work. Here we are going to dinner in town:

Telluride
From Denver, we first drove over to Telluride, CO. We wanted a big car for the 1500 mile trip, so we could have alot of space for Nolan and all our stuff. We didn't want the road to own us, we wanted to own the road. And with our Grand Marquis, we literally did own the road. The thing takes up almost both lanes of the highway its so big. They said we were probably the first people under the age of 75 to have rented this car:
Telluride is a cool old mining town turned ski resort town. It's located way in the back where all the mountains come together:

Telluride is such a fun town. I love going to all of the small little mountain towns in CO. I seriously think you could spend a lifetime exploring just CO (we actually have friends that only took vacations in CO to try and see everything.) oh and love the car...it's going to be your next car purchase, isn't it. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks fun!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Telluride. We used to go there 2 times a year... for about 10 years straight. So many memories...
