We also got to go on a little desert hike. There was a trail that led to a place called "horseshoe bend." Its part of the colorado river that makes a horseshoe turn a couple miles down from the dam. It was about a 3/4 mile hike up a little hill/mountain to the over look. It was really cool. This was shot with my wide-angle lens, so it's hard to appreciate how big it really was. I was surprised to even be able to get in all in one shot, it looks alot bigger in person:

Glen Canyon/Page, AZ
After monument valley, we drove over to page, az. We went to glen canyon, which is made from the colorado river a little further upstream from the grand canyon. They also built the glen canyon dam on the river that looks alot like the hoover dam that we went to earlier this year. It's only about 15 feet shorter than hoover dam, and was pretty impressive looking, especially with all the red rocks around it. This is a picture from the top of the dam looking back at lake powell, which was created by all the dammed up water:
