Seydisfjordur

We're stll trying to learn how to pronounce this one. This was one of the most picturesque towns that we went to. This was a town on the eastern fjords. It sat right in the bottom of these mountains and right at the edge of the fjord. You had to drive over the mountains and then down to the city. Then there was a gravel road that we took out to the edge of the ocean along the fjord.

This is gravel road. The water was so calm here, we said how good it would be to waterski here (except the fact that it was pretty close to freezing water).

After we left Seydisfjordur we drove to Egilsstadir where we stayed at a bed and breakfast type place. This was the view out of our room and a nice sunset (at about 11pm their time). This is also where we found out we were having a baby boy. We took the envelope with the ultrasound picture with us and opened it here. We thought it would be a fun story to tell our kid someday.

  1. Your pics are so gorgeous! I think that is going to be such a neat story to tell your son when he gets older. What a special memory! We were sorry we missed you last weekend. Hope to see you soon.
