Husavik

These are some pictures from one of the cities we stayed at called Husavik. It was a cute little fishing town right on the Arctic Ocean.

This was an interesting church in town.

This was our "hotel." It was a little wood cottage on the edge of a fjord that overlooked the artic ocean. Not your typical "beachside" accommodation but it was fun. It was one of the best views we had for sure. It was kind of like a little studio apartment even with its own little kitchen. There were about 8 of these little cottages overlooking the ocean. There was also a "hot pot" outside in the middle of the group that you could soak in and enjoy the view. Hot pots our like our hot tubs except they are heated with geothermal water that comes from underground. Most of Iceland doesn't need furnaces or hot water heaters, because they pipe in all this geothermal water from the active volcanic areas to everyones houses.
