Year-Round White Elephant Gift Exchange

I was reading a news article this week about a man who doesn't like to get junk mail, so he decided to fight back. I didn't realize this, but you can take those "no postage necessary envelopes" that come with credit card offers etc. and tape them onto anything that is legal to mail and the company is still responsible to pay for it. He had a big pile of bricks he didn't know how to get rid of, so he boxed them up and taped one of those envelopes on it and mailed it to the credit card company. He says they have to pay 20 cents an ounce, so an 8 lb brick costs the credit card company about $25 to receive. He says this is a good way to get back at them because it raises their advertising expenses and the money goes back into our government/postal system. If they start paying for enough of these items maybe they won't send as much junk mail anymore. Other people have sent in pictures of what they have sent and they are funny. One woman said her blender broke and she didn't know what do do with it so she boxed it up and sent it to her credit card company. Sounds like a good way to get rid of some junk around your house. 1. This is funny. Never heard or thought of this before. I'm sure you are hard at work trying to figure out what you can send out. Let us know what it is! I like the person who said he sent old photographs that he no longer wanted. Too funny! Thanks for sharing!
