This Just In.....
I had an interesting day at work yesterday. I was handed a piece of mail that I thought was probably a nice Christmas card from a patient or something of the nature. I didn't recognize the name and there was a letter and a clipping of our eye center ad that we have been running in the local newspaper. Contents are in the picture. I know I haven't seen this gentleman as a patient here and I don't think I have ever met him before. His letter is kind of weird to say the least. It sounds like he is an IU graduate as well and maybe he had an eye exam at the school once. It didn't sound like I saw him at IU as a patient either but that would have been 6 yrs ago so I wouldn't remember anyways. So, I thought I would leave it up to my fellow bloggers to figure out. Is he trying to be nice/funny? Or is it borderline stalker material. I'm used to getting letters from adoring females wanting to get eye exams, but not letters like this. And no, there wasn't any white powder in the envelope. I'm not sure who has time to sit around and do this, but it surely made my day a little more interesting. Let the comments begin!

I think you need a body guard stat.
ReplyDeleteFirst response: Strangest thing I've ever seen. After a moment to think: Is it a comment on a potential error in the advert, i.e. the difference between IU school of opt. vs. 'University of Indiana' school of opt.? If that's the case, you'd think he would have taken the time to spell your name correctly. Most importantly: Have you had the handwriting analyzed for forms of psychosis?
ReplyDeleteOooo... I'm going with creepy. Really, really creepy.
ReplyDeleteSomeone has to be playing a joke..who sent this to poor Scott!?
ReplyDeleteIf no one sent it as a joke then I'm with Stacy!
I agree with Jeff and Tiffany. I think he's making fun of university of indiana instead of indiana university. Some people are really sensitive about the order of the words. Although the guy can't spell several other words right, so i'm not sure why he cares. I think it's a real person. It had a winona address label and a rochester post-mark. At least he didn't cut little letters out of magazines or newspapers and glue them together to make a note like the serial killers used to do.
ReplyDeleteI guess the positive spin on it is that someone is reading the ad!
ReplyDeleteI think its a little on the creepy side, even if he is sensitive on the order of words- you just don't send a letter!
