Yesterday we went to see a famous roadside attraction near our house. It's only about 20 mins from our house in a small town called fountain city, wi. It's called Rock in the House. You can get the full story here, but here's a quick synopsis: this old couple lived in a house at the base of a bluff and they had a very large rock roll down the bluff into their bedroom. They sold the house to a local realtor and then he made it into a tourist destination. They have a bunch of orginial pics of the damage and notes from the couple along with all their original furniture. No one is at the house, they have a box that you put a buck into on your way in. Someone must come by and open it up and close it down for the day but that's it. Kind of strange but it was pretty cool.

This is the house from the bluff side. It's right on the mississippi river as you can see in the background. That is one large rock. It weighed 55 tons.

This was one of the handwritten notes they had inside the place. You might be able to read it if you click on the picture for the larger one. It cracks me up when it says she was in the kitchen and she heard a "noise". I'm sure it was more than a little noise.

This was the door that went into the master bedroom. There's not a whole lot left of it now other than the big rock. The kitchen where the lady was standing was just to the left of this room. She was very lucky not to even get injured. One of the notes said she couldn't even get out of the house because it bent all the door frames and they had to break through one of the doors to get out.
